Vassilissa Semouchkina (she/they) is a senior-level designer and avid outdoorsman from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She resides in Seattle, Washington with her husband, Brandon, and Australian Shepherd/Alaskan Klee Kai mix and trained truffle dog, Moomin. She is currently working as a field mycologist and professional truffle hunter. As a designer, Vassillissa most recently worked as the lead information design for Cognition Studio in Seattle, WA, as well as an adjunct lecturer for the University of Washington.


Vassilissa completed her undergraduate career at the University of Michigan, double majoring in Architecture and Art and Design. She then graduated with a Master of Design (MDes) from the University of Washington in May 2021. She is passionate about interdisciplinary design practice, design systems, design research, and design/science intersections.
